Community event: Wednesday 9 April, 5-7pm, Mōkau Community Hall
Mōkau River: Series of photographs by Ken Downie
You are invited to a get-together at Mōkau Community Hall to view a series of photographs taken by Ken Downie of Mōkau and its residents between 2020-21. The series was commissioned by the Alexander Turnbull Library and you can view the catalogue record on the National Library of New Zealand’s website here.
The photographs are currently only viewable at the National Library reading room in Wellington. Before we publicise the series further by making it available online and for exhibition and publication, we would like to seek the consent of the people featured in the photographs. For this reason, we are interested in contacting those people and hopefully meeting you in person when we are in Mōkau (9-10 April). If you were photographed by Ken Downie but are unable to make it to the event at the community hall on Wednesday 9 April, please email Louise.Garrett@dia.govt.nz
The event is hosted by Turnbull Library staff with Ken Downie. Everyone welcome. Pot-luck snacks.
