Mount Damper Falls
Description
At 74m high, Mount Damper Falls are one of the highest waterfalls in the North Island. The falls are located in Ahititi, and can be accessed via a short walk from the nearby car park.
The track to the falls is well-formed and easy to follow. However, it is important to respect private property and leave gates as you find them. The first 10 minutes of the walk are over open farmland, so it is important to stay on the walking track.
Once you reach the bridge, the track descends gradually to two viewing platforms. From these platforms, you can get a great view of the falls.
The track is closed to hunters every year from 1 August to 31 October for the lambing season.
