Perfect Mōkau Beach Stay

Our family bach has everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Mōkau, at any time of the year. Enjoy meals and drinks out on the deck during summer or cosy up by the roaring fire in winter. Hopefully, watch a beautiful West Coast sunset during your stay. too The bach features two bedrooms inside the house and a third in the sleepout and can sleep a total of 8 people (9 at a stretch!)

The bach is just one minute walk from the Whitebait Inn and 5 mins walk through the bamboo forest and down onto the sheltered beach at the 'Flower Pot'. This is a lovely safe spot for swimming and is always sheltered from the wind. (see the map in the photo section). If you would like to swim in the sea we recommend swimming at the beach entrance by the school and on the incoming tide.

This is our family bach so our personal items (plus food, clothing etc) are in the bach. If you would like to do any fishing, surfing or boogie boarding please bring your own gear. If you need to use anything else in the bach (clothing/equipment) please just ask first.

We have Sky TV, (including Sky Sports) Wifi and a selection of board games for rainy days.

There is a Visitors Book and also a bach guide on the dining table which has notes on lots of extra things you can discover during your stay. We are only a message away if you need any advice on tides, fishing or the best spot for a bonfire and marshmallows on the beach!

There is spare cupboard space under the kitchen bench (to the left) for you to store groceries, and two fridges are available.

During colder months, there is plenty of firewood stacked in the garage (and kindling behind the garage door) and the key for the garage is the one with the 'yellow jandal' keyring.
